A conversation with the Minister of Economic Affairs

Frank Niemann im Gespräch mit Wirtschaftsminister Dr. Bernd Althusmann

[Translate to US:] Froh über den offenen Austausch: Frank Niemann (NIEMANN), Jörg Siekmann & Christoph Heidenescher (Melos), Bernd Althusmann (Wirtschaftsminsiter), Gerda Hövel (CDU), Raphael Stock (Werbegemeinschaft Melle) und Niklas Schulke (CDU)

The worldwide Corona crisis also leaves clear marks on NIEMANN. Lockdowns and precautions strongly made the international markets insecure. During the meeting with the Minister for Economic Affairs of Lower Saxony, Dr. Bernd Althusmann, Mr. Frank Niemann (CEO) pointed out that NIEMANN as export-oriented machine building company from Melle-Neuenkirchen depends on these.

He followed the invitation of Mrs. Gerda Hoevel (member of the Lower-Saxon parliament for the CDU party) in order to exchange views with regional companies. The company Melos provided their pavilion for this meeting. In an open and intensive discussion, the Minister went into details regarding the Corona package of the Federal State Government of Lower Saxony, for which more than 4 billion Euro could be made available. Furthermore, the Minister for Economic Affairs supports further justifiable easing in order to not strain the economy too much and to give the people a perspective.

The time frame was unfortunately not sufficient to reply to all questions. Thus, the Minister for Economic Affairs offered the companies a subsequent videoconference date to answer the remaining questions in detail.

Frank Niemann took a positive conclusion of this discussion. As representative of the company network in Melle and as CEO of the own company it was of particular importance for him to emphatically represent the interests and also the problems of the companies in Melle.

Also the other participants from the politics and economic sector agreed that such a difficult situation can only be managed together.
